It's no secret that small businesses tend to take a hit when trouble arises in the economy. So we've put our heads together to come up with some fool-proof ways to bolster your company, even in the wake of a global pandemic. The best way through is forward - together!


1. This time, it's personal.


Think of your favorite business accounts that you follow on social media. What do they all have in common? And how are they responding to the COVID-19 crisis right now?


If a company is doing social media the right way, chances are that the majority of their posts aren't sales-driven. They're probably community-driven.


Now is not the time to be camera shy! Your clients like to do business with PEOPLE, and 'people' includes YOU. When is the last time you made a post, addressing your audience directly? Or better yet, when is the last time you filmed a story of yourself talking about what is going on right now in your business? It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be real.


People are all over social media right now. They're bored, they're stuck inside, and they're scouring the internet for information, for optimism, and for entertainment. What can you bring to the table that is unique? Inspiring? Or at the very least, increases engagement?


If people care about you, they care about your business too. It's time to make it personal!


2. Sharing is caring.


Many of the clients that we work with offer personal services that require close physical contact. Salons, gyms, estheticians, restaurants, etc. So what happens when you have to close your doors?


Every business has something special to offer, including you! Your services might be unavailable (for now), but that doesn't mean that your expertise is useless! It's time to put all of your knowledge to use.


Whether it's a free video tutorial, an at-home workout circuit, or even a recipe you want to share, providing your audience with free assets like this will only increase your online presence, engagement, and reputation.


While it might not be profitable right now, your clients will appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge... without sharing your germs. 🤧


3. Everyone loves free stuff.


And if you can't make your stuff free, people still love a good discount!

One of the best ways to bolster sales right now is to increase your online retail presence. For example, let's say that you own one of these companies that offers services, but your services are no longer available to the public. What is another way that your customers can financially support you?


Here’s some ideas to get you started...


It's time to start selling gift cards, certificates, merchandise, products... WHATEVER it is that you can promote online so people can immediately invest in your business. If you've already got a retail page up on your website, then good for you! You're ahead of the game!


Now, how to boost some sales…


Let's think outside of the box. Digital promotions allow for people to invest in what you have to offer, all from the ease of their computer or cell phone. Social giveaways, coupons, and exclusive email discounts are all great ways to stretch your sales and cater directly to your audience during these weird times!
